Jacobson and Laurie Anne Mazure titled " The Iron First: How Advertising and marketing Portrays Women" sheds mild on the excessive attention paid to a woman's appearance. The content states that " ladies have always been tested against ethnical ideas of beauty but advertising has joined makes with sexism to make images of the natural beauty ideal more pervasive, and more unattainable, than in the past before" (Jacobson and Mazur 211). The right image of women portrayed by advertisements is usually unrealistic, however it models standards that numerous women think they must adjust their appearance in order to attain. It is hard to examine a woman's magazine with no seeing by least one article regarding " trimming down" or " shaping up". Pounds is perhaps the most imperative facet of the ideal image of women, referred to by Jacobson and Mazur as " The Iron Maiden". " This advertisement, just like many others, promotes the misconception that joy comes from getting thin. Skinniness as delight can be as refined as before and after pictures that display a person noticeably more content after slimming down. The idea is clearly declared in other advertising such as a Mary Kay content that states " My own skin. My own eyes. My smile. Suddenly, every thing feels so right. Option beauty...
